Transport Canada recall 2023249 · manufacturer campaign WRI-23

25 April 2023

Transport Canada lists: Impreza 2023

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the brake lamp switch may not have been adjusted correctly. As a result, the brake lamps could turn on without applying the brake pedal. It may also be possible to start the vehicle and shift the transmission out of the Park position (P) without pressing the brake pedal. If this happens, the vehicle could move unexpectedly.

Why it matters

Brake lamps that stay on when the vehicle isn't braking could confuse other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. A vehicle that moves suddenly could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Subaru will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the brake lamp switch, and adjust it if necessary.
