On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument cluster display to go blank while driving. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the transmission wiring harness may be too short. As a result, the wiring could be damaged by contact with the front driveshaft. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall only affects certain AMG E 53 hybrid models.

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the transmission wiring harness and re-route it if necessary.
