Steering

Transport Canada recall 2016617

13 December 2016

Transport Canada lists: Class 2013

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the electric power steering control unit may have been manufactured with improperly soldered contacts. If the pins of the control unit were to lose complete contact, it could lead to a short circuit within the control unit, increasing the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. In addition, the condition could result in a loss of power steering assist, which would increase steering effort and increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the electric power steering control module.

Airbag

Transport Canada recall 2013382

4 November 2013

Transport Canada lists: Class 2013

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the front passenger seat Occupant Classification System may malfunction and deactivate the front passenger airbag while a person is seated in the front passenger seat, illuminating the "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" warning light. This could result in the airbag not deploying when warranted in a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will verify the proper operation of the Occupant Classification System, and affect repairs if necessary.
