What is wrong

Under certain conditions, the clutch pressure plate could overheat and break. If this happens, the pressure plate may also crack or break the transmission case. This could cause debris to fall from the vehicle. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 3.6 L engine and a manual transmission. Vehicles repaired under FCA Canada recalls Y01, Y03 and Y07 (Transport Canada recall 2021-035) also require this repair.

Why it matters

Debris from an overheated and fractured pressure plate could contact nearby parts and increase the risk of a fire. Parts that fall from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of injury.

What the dealer will do

FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to tale your vehicle to a dealership to replace the clutch assembly. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, update the instrument panel cluster and powertrain control module software.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the rear driveshaft joint may have been built without grease. As a result, the joint could fail and cause the driveshaft to detach from the vehicle. If the vehicle was in rear-wheel drive mode, this would cause a loss of power to the drive wheels.

Why it matters

A loss of power to the drive wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a driveshaft that separates from the vehicle could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the rear driveshaft constant-velocity joint and replace the driveshaft if required.
