What is wrong

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection. The functionality of the Airbag Status Indicator Lamp may have been incorrectly described in the owner’s manual. This will not affect the operation of the Occupant Sensor System but an occupant that does not correctly understand the airbag functionality may be at an increased risk of injury in a crash.

What the dealer will do

Owners will receive a handbook supplement containing the proper information on the airbag system to add to the owners manual.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, underbody brake pipe unions may not have been tightened to specification. This could cause a loss of brake fluid, illuminating the brake warning lamp and causing the instrument cluster to display the warning message "Fluid Level Low". If operated in this condition, brake system function could be affected, potentially increasing stopping distances or causing a loss of brake system function. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Loss of brake fluid could also affect brake pressure switch function, which could cause the vehicle to fail to start.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, top up the brake fluid and tighten the joints to the correct torque specification.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, fasteners securing components of the engine accessory belt drive system may not have been tightened to specification, and could become loose. This could cause a loss of power steering and/or electrical charging system function, and could allow the alternator's positive cable to arc against other components, potentially resulting in a fire. These issues could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect fasteners to and tighten to specification as necessary.
