What is wrong

On certain scooters, the engine crankcase may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, transmission oil could leak and cause the driveshaft bearings to seize. If this happens, the rear wheel could lock up suddenly while riding.

Why it matters

A rear wheel that locks up suddenly could cause a loss of control. Additionally, an oil leak could create a hazard for others. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your scooter to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, repair the transmission housing.
