What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the weight sensor for the front passenger seat may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the passenger-front airbag and knee airbag could deploy in a crash that doesn't require them to. Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2024-059. If the weight sensor fails, the SRS warning light would turn on in the instrument panel.

Why it matters

An airbag system that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger-front seat weight sensor.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the seat belt buckles for the driver and front-passenger seats could wear over time and may not latch securely. If this happens, the seat belt could unlatch unexpectedly.

Why it matters

A seat belt that doesn't latch securely could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.

What the dealer will do

Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the driver and front-passenger seat belt assemblies. In most cases, the seat belt buckle release buttons will be replaced. If the dealer determines that a buckle can't be repaired, it will be replaced with a new part.

27 September 2018

Transport Canada lists: Civic 2017–2018 · CR V 2017

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the electric power steering system could get caught in an infinite loop of steering assist going from lock to lock due to a manufacturing defect in the torque sensor. This could cause unintended steering input, reducing vehicle manoeuvrability, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the steering gearbox assembly.

Fuel System

Transport Canada recall 2017347 · manufacturer campaign HN17

14 July 2017

Transport Canada lists: CR V 2017

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the fuel feed pipe may not have been properly manufactured. Upon the fuel lines being pressurized, the connection between the feed pipe and fuel hose could separate, resulting in a fuel leak which could cause an engine stall. Additionally, a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the fuel feed pipe and associated single use retainers.
