Transport Canada recall 2026008 · manufacturer campaign R0298 (61D007)

Transport Canada lists: G 80 2025–2026 · GV 60 2026 · GV 70 2026 · GV 80 2025–2026

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument panel cluster and audio/video/navigation displays to reboot while driving. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales. Note: For the GV70 model, this recall affects both gas and EV (electric) models.

Why it matters

Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

To reduce the safety risk, Genesis advises you to disable the HD radio feature while driving until the recall repairs have been completed. Genesis will notify owners in writing and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the audio/video/navigation software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Genesis dealership.

Hyundai Auto Canada is conducting an extended warranty campaign for certain vehicles as water could enter the horn assembly and cause the horn's electrical contacts to corrode. As a result, the horn may not work properly or at all.

Why it matters

A horn that doesn't work properly could prevent a driver from warning others of a danger and create an unsafe situation.

What the dealer will do

To reduce the safety risk, Hyundai advises you to test the horn regularly. Hyundai will notify owners in writing and advise you to contact a dealership if your horn doesn't work properly. Hyundai will provide an extended warranty of 10 years/200 000 km to replace the horn for free if it fails.

7 August 2024

Transport Canada lists: GV 60 2023–2024 · GV 80 2025

What is wrong

Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing.

Why it matters

A rearview camera image that doesn't display properly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

To reduce the safety risk, Genesis advises you to limit the reverse speed to below 10 km/h until the recall repairs are completed. Genesis will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera system software.
