Seats And Restraints

Transport Canada recall 2017307 · manufacturer campaign 17239

15 June 2017

Transport Canada lists: Envision 2017

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 202 - Head Restraints. The optional Universal Tablet Holder accessory may have been incorrectly installed on front seat head restraints, which may prevent the head restraint posts from fully engaging in the seat back. A head restraint that is not fully engaged in the seat back could loosen and dislodge, or inadvertently move to an undesired height which may provide insufficient head and neck support, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash, and would fail to comply with the requirements of the standard.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect the head restraints and tablet holders for correct installation and reinstall if necessary. General Motors will also mail corrected installation instructions to customers who purchased the Universal Tablet Holder over the counter for installation on their own vehicles.

6 July 2016

Transport Canada lists: Envision 2016–2017

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 - Tire Selection and Rims. The combined weight of occupants and cargo, as displayed on the Tire and Loading Information label, does not meet the requirements of the Standard. As such, the vehicle could be unwittingly overloaded, which would result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install an updated Tire and Loading Information label with the correct maximum combined weight of 432 kg (952 lbs).
