What is wrong

On certain motorcycles, the fuel pump flange could crack. If this happens, fuel could leak while the engine is running. Note: This is an expansion of recall 16 002 20 (014) (Transport Canada Recall No. 2020-437).

Why it matters

A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.

What the dealer will do

BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the fuel pump and auxiliary fuel pump (if equipped) with an improved version.

What is wrong

On certain motorcycles, one or more of the bolts that connect the right-side pivot pin to the frame may not have been tightened to specification due to a manufacturing issue. This could result in the pivot pin loosening, which could affect vehicle handling and stability and could result in loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will remove and clean the pivot pin bolts, and apply an adhesive and ensure proper torque of the bolts.

What is wrong

Certain motorcycles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. These motorcycles may have been built with rear turn signals that do not meet the lens area visibility requirements of the standard. In certain road and traffic conditions, the rear turn signals may be obscured to the driver of a following vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the rear turn signal lamps with units that have longer arms.
