What is wrong

On certain vehicles, fluid from the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system could leak on the intake air hose. As a result, the fluid could enter the electrical connector for the water pump and cause a short circuit.

Why it matters

A short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off.

What the dealer will do

To reduce the safety risk, BMW advises you to park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs are completed. BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the water pump and electrical connector. The dealer will also install a shield on the connector.

Transport Canada recall 2016438

8 September 2016

Transport Canada lists: 2 2016 · 3 2015–2017 · 4 2016

What is wrong

This could cause the bolts to become loose as they would not achieve sufficient clamping force. A loose sub-frame could affect vehicle handling and stability which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the rear sub-frame bolts.

Transport Canada recall 2015552

19 November 2015

Transport Canada lists: 3 2016 · 4 2015–2016

What is wrong

On certain M3 and M4 vehicles, the slip-joint located on the driveshaft going from the transmission to the rear axle may not have been greased properly during the manufacturing process. Over time, this could cause the slip-joint to fail, which would result in a loss of motive power increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do
