What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a defect in the ignition switch could allow the switch to move out of the "run" position if the key ring is carrying added weight or the driver unintentionally bumps the ignition key with their knee. An unintended change in ignition switch position while driving may result in loss of engine power, power steering, and braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash and disabling one or more of the vehicle’s safety features including the frontal airbags.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the ignition switch and lock cylinder. Important note: Until the correction is performed, drivers should adjust their seat to allow clearance between their knee and the ignition key, and remove all items from the key ring.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with a full-time four-wheel drive system, the transfer case controller could fail. This could cause the transfer case to shift into or through the neutral position, which may allow the vehicle to roll away, even with the transmission in the PARK position. Should the vehicle roll away, it could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury.

Dealers will reprogram the final drive controller with updated software.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with a 4.7L engine, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) contains software that may allow the engine to stall under certain operating conditions. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will reprogram the PCM.

On certain vehicles, software programmed into the Antilock Brake System (ABS) electronic control module may allow a momentary delay in braking when coasting up a hill during certain conditions. This could cause a crash without warning.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the edge of the seat belt retractor bracket on the third-row seat may contact the seat belt webbing during certain operating conditions. As a result, the seat belt may not properly restrain third-row seat occupants during a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install a plastic cover on the retractor bracket at both third-row seating positions.
