Recalls

Good news: Recall repairs are almost always free. Book with any manufacturer dealer and quote the recall number. Transport Canada’s own wording is that a manufacturer “will almost always make these repairs free of charge”, so being asked to pay for recall work is unusual and worth questioning. Since 2018 the Minister of Transport can order a company to pay for repairs so owners do not bear the cost.

Seats And Restraints

Transport Canada recall 2017638 · manufacturer campaign RA-18-0026

18 December 2017

Transport Canada lists: DB9 2005–2006

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, when the passenger (right side) front seat is operated to its fully reward position, it is possible that the seat track can compress and damage the battery supply cable. If this were to occur, the damaged wiring could contact and ground against the seat track, causing the wiring to overheat and melt, which could cause smoke and increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect the battery supply cable for damage, and install a routing block to ensure that the seat track cannot compress the battery supply cables.

3 December 2014

Transport Canada lists: DB9 2006–2014 · DBS 2006–2014 · V12 Vantage 2006–2014 · Vantage V8 2006–2014 · and 1 more

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a defect in the seat heater wiring could cause the front seat heaters to remain on even when the control switch is in the "off" position. This could cause certain areas of the seats to overheat, which could result in injury to seat occupants and increase the risk of a fire causing damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install an additional module which will isolate power supply in the event of a malfunction.

Transport Canada recall 2005345 · manufacturer campaign SAR011

4 November 2005

Transport Canada lists: DB9 2006

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may have an incorrectly manufactured guide plate which could hinder the function of the transmission parking pawl. Consequently, PARK may not engage when the button in the vehicle is pressed to select PARK and all indicators show PARK position is achieved. If the vehicle was parked on an incline of sufficient grade, and the parking brake was not engaged, the vehicle could roll away.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the parking pawl guide plate.

Running cost uses Ontario average prices (155 ¢/L, 14.5 ¢/kWh), which are hand-maintained estimates. These are average residential rates. A car’s charging is added on top of what your home already uses, so on a tiered, time-of-use or subsidised tariff it is billed at your top rate rather than this average — which makes the real cost higher, especially in the territories.
