Transport Canada recall 2025099 · manufacturer campaign 97H3 / 454R

26 February 2025

Transport Canada lists: Q 4 2022–2023 · Id 4 2021–2023

What is wrong

Under certain circumstances, a software problem could cause the ''N'' (Neutral) gear position not to display on the instrument cluster. As a result, you may not be aware when the transmission is in neutral. If this happens, and brakes or parking brake aren't used, the vehicle could roll away. Note: For the Q4 e-tron model, this recall affects both SUV and Sportback models.

Why it matters

A vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

What the dealer will do

To reduce the safety risk, the company recommends that you should use the parking brake and confirm the parking brake indicator light is on when you park. The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the brake control unit software.

Transport Canada lists: Id 4 2021–2023

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument cluster and center display to reset or not to work. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer and certain warning lights and/or messages. In addition, the rearview camera image may not display when the transmission is shifted into the reverse gear.

Why it matters

Warnings and malfunction tell-tale information that don't display could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could also increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle software.
