Transport Canada’s own wording is that a manufacturer “will almost always make these repairs free of charge”, so being asked to pay for recall work is unusual and worth questioning. What is wrong

On certain motorcycles, the recall repairs completed by a Suzuki dealer during recall 2174 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-088) may not be effective. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain motorcycles, a problem with the front brake master cylinder could cause the brake lever to move an increased distance before the brakes apply. If this happens, there could be reduced braking. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-088.

Why it matters

Reduced braking can cause an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Suzuki will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the front brake master cylinder.

What is wrong

On certain motorcycles, the nut that attaches the brake pipe to the antilock braking system (ABS) unit may not have been properly tightened. As a result, brake fluid could leak and cause reduced braking.

Why it matters

Reduced braking can cause increased stopping distances and create the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Suzuki will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to tighten the brake pipe flare nut and inspect for brake fluid leakage. Brake fluid will be added, if necessary.
