Transport Canada recall 2022490 · manufacturer campaign R10192

31 August 2022

Transport Canada lists: Polestar 1 2020–2021 · Polestar 2 2021–2023

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the top-view camera to display instead of the rearview camera image when you are reversing. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when reversing. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 360-degree park assist camera.

Why it matters

A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Polestar will notify owners in writing and send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the high-voltage battery could overheat when it is fully charged. As a result, the battery could create smoke or heat, which can melt or damage the battery and nearby parts.

Why it matters

A battery that overheats can create a fire risk.

What the dealer will do

Polestar will notify owners in writing and send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle to lower the battery charging limit until the final repair is available. Polestar will send you a second recall notice to advise you when a replacement battery is available for your vehicle.
