Steering
Transport Canada recall 2019412
14 August 2019
Transport Canada lists: Countryman 2019
What is wrong
On certain vehicles, the steering tie rod ends may not be assembled correctly and could be missing a washer. Over time, this may cause excessive wear to the tie rod ends and cause them to break. This could result in a loss of steering control.
Why it matters
A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.
What the dealer will do
BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the tie rods and ball joints.
