What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Mercedes-Benz dealer during Transport Canada recall nos. 2025-041 or 2025-527 may not be effective. As a result, another repair is required. On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit.

Why it matters

A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off.

What the dealer will do

To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% and that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs are completed. Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-voltage battery.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-041. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair.

On certain vehicles, a weld inside the front axle electric drivetrain could fail and cause the park pawl not to work properly when you shift to the park (P) position. On certain vehicles, the B-pillar trim could crack when a side curtain airbag deploys in a crash. If this happens, the side airbag(s) may not inflate properly and plastic pieces could be propelled toward people in the vehicle.

Plastic pieces that are propelled towards vehicle occupants could create an increased risk of injury.
