2 September 2025

Transport Canada lists: CX 70 2025 · CX 90 2024–2025

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, an incorrect fuel level may be displayed on the instrument cluster. As a result, the driver may be unaware of how much fuel is in the tank, and the vehicle could run out of fuel and stall.

Why it matters

A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

To reduce the safety risk, Mazda advises that you should refuel before the fuel gauge reaches ¼ level until the recall repairs have been completed. Mazda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the body control module software.

Transport Canada lists: CX 70 2025 · CX 90 2024

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, there could be a software problem with the dash electrical supply unit. As a result, the windshield defroster, the seat belt reminder sound and tell-tale, the 360-degree view monitor and high-voltage battery cooling system may not work properly.

Transport Canada lists: CX 90 2024 · Mazda 3 2024

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image to flicker or not to appear on the display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a dynamic guideline rearview monitor and/or the 360-degree monitor.

Why it matters

A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Mazda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the view monitor control module software.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the vehicle may make a reverse warning sound when the gear selector is in a position other than reverse. As a result, the vehicles don't meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations.

Why it matters

Audible warnings that don't work correctly could create confusion and increase the risk of injury for pedestrians and cyclists.

What the dealer will do

Mazda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the software for the Approaching Vehicle Audible System (AVAS) Information Sound Box (ISB) amplifier. To minimize the safety risk, Mazda recommends that you should move the shift lever slowly when shifting from 'P' to 'N' or from 'P' to 'D' and pause for at least one second at the 'R' position until the recall repairs are completed.
