Engine

Transport Canada recall 2025356 · manufacturer campaign R25A8 / R25A9 / R25B2

27 June 2025

Transport Canada lists: QX 50 2019–2022 · QX 55 2022 · Rogue 2021–2024

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the engine may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the engine could make abnormal noises and a warning light may turn on. If you continue to drive the vehicle with these symptoms, the engine could fail. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with 1.5 L or 2.0 L variable compression engines.

Why it matters

An engine failure could cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels and/or increase the risk of a vehicle fire. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash or injury.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine. On certain vehicles, the dealer will also update the engine control module.

Why it matters

Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the tire and loading information label. If there are printing errors, the label will be replaced.
