Transport Canada recall 2025104 · manufacturer campaign 25S12

2 March 2025

Transport Canada lists: Ecosport 2021–2022

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the front axle shafts may not have been installed properly. As a result, the front axle shaft(s) could become damaged and/or separate from the transmission, and cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the vehicle is parked and the parking brake isn't applied, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Why it matters

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create a risk of a crash or an injury.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the axle shaft(s).

Transport Canada lists: Ecosport 2018–2022 · Focus 2016–2018

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the engine oil pump tensioner and/or the engine oil pump drive belt could fail and cause a loss of engine oil pressure. If this happens, the engine could fail and cause a loss of power to the wheels and a loss of power braking assist. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 1.0L engine.

Why it matters

A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A loss of power brakes can cause an increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the oil pump drive belt tensioner assembly. The dealer will also replace the oil pump drive belt.
