What is wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with the Roadside Emergency Kit containing a Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage.

What the dealer will do

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the accelerator pedal pivot bearing bushings may dislodge from the pedal bushing bearing pockets and cause the accelerator pedal to bind or stick. Even though these vehicles are equipped with "Smart Brake technology", where the engine controller is designed to reduce engine power when a disagreement between the throttle and the brake exists, the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death still exist.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the accelerator pedal assembly.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the length of the rear wheel hub mounting bolts may prevent proper actuation of the park brake. This could allow unintended movement of the vehicle under certain conditions and cause a crash without warning.

Dealers will replace the rear wheel hub mounting bolts and brake cable equalizer, and adjust the park brake system.
