What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a defect in the ignition switch could allow the switch to move out of the "run" position if the key ring is carrying added weight or the vehicle goes off-road or is subjected to some other jarring event. If this were to occur, engine power, power steering and power braking would be affected, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. The timing of the key movement out of the “run” position, relative to the activation of the sensing algorithm of the crash event, may also result in the airbags not deploying in a subsequent collision, increasing the risk of injury.

What the dealer will do

For each key, dealers will install two key rings and modify the key ring opening shape. Note: Until the correction is performed, all items should be removed from the key ring.

On certain vehicles, the driver and/or front passenger lap and/or shoulder belt retractors may not lock up or remain locked up as designed during a crash in which the belt pretensioners deploy. In such a crash, this could result in an increased chance of injury for that occupant.

The dealers will replace the driver and passenger pretensioners.

What is wrong

Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 209 - Seat Belt Assemblies. The push button release effort for the front outboard seat belts exceeds the maximum of 14 kilograms (30 pounds). After a crash, the higher release efforts could make it more difficult for an occupant to release the belt and exit the vehicle.

What the dealer will do

Dealer will add "snap on" latch clips to eliminate the potential of inverted latch plate insertion. Dealers will inspect the seat belts and, if necessary, modify the latch plates with a special tool or replace the retractor.

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may have internal fluid leaks in the brake hydraulic control unit. When the rear brake proportioning, antilock brake, traction control, or stability control feature is activated in some driving situations, the feature may not perform as designed and the driver could lose vehicle control.

ABS hydraulic modulator unit will be inspected and replaced if necessary.

What is wrong

On certain hearse and limousine vehicles, the right front brake hose may contact the wheel resulting in damage to the brake hose. A damaged hose can result in loss of brake fluid and a half system failure which in turn will cause a low brake pedal and increased stopping distances.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the right front brake hose assembly. The left front brake hose assembly will also be replaced to prevent the possibility of incorrect positioning of the hose during any future service.

What is wrong

Certain limousine vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 124 - Accelerator Control Systems. The plastic end fitting of the cruise control cable may contact the brake master cylinder and fracture. The fracture may prevent full closing of the throttle as required by the standard.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install a new cruise control bracket and, if necessary, replace the cruise control cable.
