Transport Canada recall 2019241 · manufacturer campaign 97DK

23 May 2019

Transport Canada lists: Q 3 2016–2018

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, if the front turn signal light fails, the driver would not be alerted by a fast-flashing turn signal indicator. Canadian regulations require this to happen so a driver knows when a turn signal light is not working.

Why it matters

A loss of turn signal function, without a warning to the driver, could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the body control module software.

Transport Canada recall 2017318 · manufacturer campaign 45G6

27 June 2017

Transport Canada lists: Q 3 2016–2017

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. If the parking brake is used during emergency braking, the brake lights on the vehicle will not activate. Following road users would be unaware of the emergency braking that is taking place, which could increase the risk of a rear-end crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will update vehicle software to correct the non-compliance.

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. In a situation where the parking lights are switched on and the vehicle is locked, the side marker lights do not illuminate, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could reduce vehicle visibility, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will update vehicle software.
