What is wrong

On certain vehicle, the U-bolts that attach the rear axle to the suspension may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the axle could slide on the leaf spring. This could cause poor handling and lead to a loss of control.

Why it matters

A loss of control could create the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the leaf spring U-bolts.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the reinforcements on the B-pillar(s) may not have been properly welded. As a result, the front seat belt height adjuster(s) could fail in a crash.

Why it matters

A seat belt that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
