What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a problem with the windshield wiper motor could cause it not to work properly in cold temperatures. If this happens, the windshield wipers may only operate at their high-speed setting and the windshield washing system may not work.

Why it matters

Windshield wipers and a windshield washing system that don't work properly can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield wiper motor.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the EGR valve could fail and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L engine, 2.0 L gas or hybrid engine or 2.3 L engine.

Why it matters

A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the EGR valve.

What is wrong

This recall is for supercharger upgrade kits that were installed before delivery or purchased from a dealer as an aftermarket accessory. Under certain conditions, the upgrade kit's powertrain control module (PCM) software may not work properly and could turn off certain safety features. If this happens, the vehicle could move and/or accelerate unexpectedly. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 5.0 L engine. This problem could cause a malfunction indicator light or a wrench light to turn on in the instrument cluster.

Why it matters

A vehicle that moves and/or accelerates suddenly could create the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the PCM software.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the body seams may not have been sealed properly. As a result, water could leak into the body control module (BCM). If this happens, the front and rear side marker lights, taillights and license plate lights may not work and/or flicker.

Why it matters

Exterior lights that don't work and/or flicker could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the body seams for proper sealing. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the BCM.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the light emitting diode (LED) driver module in the headlight assemblies could fail. If this happens, the high and low beam headlights, parking lights, daytime running lights and turn signal lights may not work. For Nautilus models, this could also cause the rear tail lights, turn signals and parking lights not to work. Note: This problem would cause an "Advanced Front Lighting Feature Temporarily Unavailable" warning message to be displayed and the turn signal telltale to flash at the same speed as when a turn signal bulb fails.

Why it matters

Headlights and/or exterior lights that don't work properly could cause reduce visibility and/or make the vehicle less visible to others. Turn signals that don't work properly may cause a person not to recognize when a driver intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the LED driver module.
